The Huayhuash mountain range, located south of Huaraz, 250 kilometers northeast of Lima, in the city of Chiquian (3,200 m). It is one of the favorite places for trekking enthusiasts. It contains more than 30 snow-capped peaks, six of which exceed 6,000 meters in height, since Yerupajá (6,617 m) is the second highest in Peru, Siulá (6,536 m) and Sarapo (6,143 m). It has similar characteristics to the Himalaya mountains. The snowy Yerupajá is the second highest peak in Peru and the difficult access.

Day 01: Huaraz (3100 m.) / Llamac (3300 m.) / Cuartelhuain (4100 m.)
Transportation transfer to Cuartelhuain where we will install our first camp. Where we will hike to the Asiac viewpoint. Walking time: 3 to 4 hours approx. (bus 4.5 hours), Camping: Cuartelhuain (4100 m.).
Day 02: Cuartelhuain / Mitucocha (4200 m.)
From Cuartelhuain we begin to climb towards the first pass Cacananpunta (4,700m); then we descend towards the Banca valley. Walking time: 4 to 5 hours approx. Mitucocha Camp (4200 m.).
Day 03: Mitucocha / Carhuacocha (4150 m.)
This day the walk will ascend to the Carhuac pass (4,650m) from where we will have an excellent view of Siula and Yerupaja. Walking time: 5 to 6 hours approx. Carhuacocha (4150 m.).
Day 04: Carhuacocha / Huayhuash (4350 m.)
This day we start our walk following the course of the river to the head of the queroradaQueropalca and then we ascend to Paso Carnicero (4,600m) from where you will have an excellent view of the mountains such as: El Yerupaja 6,634m (second highest mountain in Peru), Siula 6,356m (mountain that made Joe Simpson famous after his dramatic climb that led to the story in his book and then in the movie “Touching the Void”). Walking time: 5 to 6 hours approx. Camp: Huayhuash (4350 m.)
Day 05: Huayhuash / Viconga (4500 m.)
This day, the walk takes us to the southern end of the Cordillera Huayhuash and then we ascend to the Huayhuash pass (4,700m). From the count we can appreciate the view of the Raura mountain range, as well as excellent views of the southeast side of the trapezoid. Then we will visit the thermal baths of Putcka. This day we can relax in the thermal pools. Walking time: 5 to 6 hours approx. Camp: Viconga (4500 m.)
Day 06: Viconga / Huanacpatay (4200 m.)
This day the objective will be to cross the Cuyoc Pass (5,000m) highest point of the trek and from where splendid views of the snow-capped mountains are obtained: Cuyoc, Puscanturpa, Trapecio, Siula, Yerupaja, Sarapo and Jurao. Walking time 5 to 6 hours approx. Camp: Huanacpatay (4200 m.).
Day 07: Huanacpatay / Paso San Antonio (5050 m) / Huayllapa (3600 m.)
This day we will ascend to the sixth pass called San Antonio at 5050 m. and then descend through the Huanacpatay valley until you reach the town of Huayllapa. Walking time: 6 to 7 hours approx. Camp: Huayllapa (3600 m.).
Day 08: Huayllapa / Susucocha (4600 m.)
This day we walk uphill towards the Punta Tapush pass (4800 m.), From where we get a panoramic view of the snow-covered Diablo Mudo (5350 m.). Walking time: 5 to 6 hours approx. Camp: Susucocha (4600 m.)
Day 09: Susucocha / Jahuacocha (4100 m.)
This day our walk will be to the Yaucha Pass (4,800m) from where we will have an impressive view of the snow-capped mountains: Rondoy, Ninashanca, Jirishanca, Yerupaja Chico, Yerupaja Grande, Rasac and Siula. Optional: Climbing the snowy Diablo Mudo 5,350 m (extra price). Walking time: 5 to 6 hours approx. Jahuacocha Camp (4100 m.).
Day 10: Free day in Jahuacocha
Optional we can hike around the Jahuacocha lagoon and Laguna Rasac (4600m). Walking time: 4 to 5 hours approx. Camp: Jahuacocha (4100 m.).
Day 11: Jahuacocha / Llamac (3300 m.) / Huaraz (3100 m.)
This last day of walking we will descend through the Huayllan ravine, passing between ichus and quenuales until we reach the town of Llamac; Here we do not expect our transportation to move to the city of Huaraz. Walking time: 4 to 5 hours approx.
