Trekking circuit along the Pre-Inka path that connects the Callejón de Huaylas with the Conchucos Valley. It is a walk that crosses the Cordillera Blanca through the Yanashallas pass (4,700 masl). Throughout 3 days of walking we will be able to appreciate different places, near beautiful snow-capped mountains. The culminating point is the arrival at the Archaeological Momunento of Chavín de Huantar, an impressive Pre-Inka construction, with a complex of underground galleries.
The route begins in the town of Olleros 3526m. (30 km south of Huaraz), where the expedition teams will be transported by Lamas during the walk. Adventure trekking 39km. During the three days of walking, in addition to visiting many places of great natural beauty and appreciating the snowy Shaqsha (5703), Cashan (5686) and Tuctupunta (5343), travelers participate in the customs and traditions of peasant peoples such as Shongo ( with its imposing sacred monoliths or “huancas”) and Nunupata. The route ends at the spectacular Chavín archaeological complex, an important administrative and ceremonial center for the first pre-Columbian Pan-Peruvian culture.
Day 01: Huaraz / Olleros 3420 masl – Sacracancha 4,000m
After a good breakfast at the hotel, we leave Huaraz at 8:00 am south 30 kms. / 30 minutes. in our private transportation; First pass through the town of Olleros, and then arrive at Canrey Chico 3350m, where we will meet our support staff who are waiting for us with their donkeys to transport our camping equipment. From this point, we start the walk following the course of the Río Negro enjoying the mountainous landscape and the snow-capped peaks such as Shaqsha, Cashan, Rurec, Huatzan Chico, Uruashraju, Pucaraju and Yanamarey; then continue through Agocancha and Quiswar. Arrive early at the designated Sacracancha camp at 4,000 meters where we will camp. About 5 hours walking.
Day 02: Sacracancha – Yanashallash Pass 4700m – Shoncopampa.
Today we pass the highest point of this route, so we will have to leave very early to ascend about 800mt. The Yanashayash pass of up to 4700 m (which is the highest point of the circuit) will have a magnificent view of a portion of the Cordillera Blanca, from east to west, where we can see the snowy Huantsan 6395 m, 5700 m and Uruashraju Rurec 5722 meters. This pass is the dividing line that takes us to Callejón de Conchucos, from this place you can see more clearly the pre-Inca path, the stone paved path, paved in places to descend in zigzag at the second camp (Shongo) 4080 m overnight.

Day 03: Shoncopampa 4080 meters. – Chavin 3150 meters. – Huaraz
Early in the morning after our breakfast, we start our departure walking towards the villages of Nunapata, chichucancha … etc., and then we descend to the city of Chavin, We will immediately visit the ruins and visit the city near the ruins as well. The Chavin archaeological complex consists of tunnels and temples where the Lanzon stones, such as Chavin, the Monolith and Wake, that have carved anthropomorphic forms are different. After a fascinating tour of the mother culture of Peru: Chavín, return to Huaraz, passing through the Kahuish tunnel 400 meters long (4450 m), we will descend and pass through the Querococha lagoon at 3,980 meters. We arrived at Catac, then we headed north passing Recuay, Ticapampa, Mashuan, Toclla and finally we reached Huaraz around 5pm. Transfer to the hotel. Approximately 4 hours.
